SUMMARY:
Our client, a specialty chemical provider to the personal care and pharmaceutical industries, has engaged The STORY Group to recruit for an Operations Manager role.
In this hands-on role, the Supply Chain (Operations) Manager will ensure the efficient and compliant operational activities of the Canadian business. This position will be responsible for managing Administrative, Logistics (Supply Chain), IT, Regulatory, Quality and Finance activities.
The right person for this position will be organized, detail oriented, and dedicated to providing good customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The specific responsibilities of the role, while not limited to, include:
Supply Chain and Logistics
Endorse all logistics responsibilities (Customer Service, Purchasing, Warehousing, Transportation)
Manage Supply Chain personnel
Coordinate relationships with all elements of supply chain and logistics: suppliers, freight forwarders, customs, warehouse, transportation companies, customers’ purchasing and procurement teams
IT and Communication
Oversee management of IT services and telecommunications
Safety, Health, Environment and Quality
Ensure compliance with all Canadian federal, provincial and local legal and regulatory requirements as it relates to products and operational activities
Oversee the Responsible Distribution® program
Act as the affiliates Quality Champion within the global corporate structure
Financials
Endorse all financial responsibilities
Manage the internal accounting personnel, work closely with the Canadian and US CPAs and with the financial controller and the group CFO in the headquarters
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Following are the minimum requirements for the position:
Bachelor’s Degree and related experience
Superior hands on SAP skills in the SD, MM, FI and CO modules.
Superior MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook skills with a focus on data manipulation and generating business efficiencies.
Basic knowledge of SalesForce.com and SAP CRM
Strong, hands on understanding of regulatory aspects as it relates to the supply of ingredient to the Canadian market.
Detail oriented
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be driven and focused in a team-oriented environment
Previous experience with a Personal Care / Pharmaceutical ingredient supplier a plus
